Paintings on Salvaged Wood

CONSERVATION - Limited resources throughout most of my creative path has led me to being resourceful with materials by using what’s on hand, what I find and making my paints go an extra mile or more by watering them down and layering, often using the pre-existing patinas on the wood in part of my painting.

IMPERFECTION - Like an ongoing practice with myself, I embrace the imperfections of the found objects and let the painting highlight subtle marks, holes and chips. There’ story, song and sweetness in savoring those subtleties.

FRAMING - Also using salvaged wood, I will cut the thin strips with either a handsaw or chop saw at home, then using wood glue and nails as needed depending on weight.
